Abstract

The proposed project aims to obtain advances in the synthesis of bioactive ceramics in vitro, especially the 45S5 composition, and using an alternative source of silica extracted from biomass, especially rice husk ash, another advance proposed in the project is to carry out a silica extraction process of high purity (> 99%).The material proposed here can be used as a bone graft for bone replacement surgeries for the installation of implants, it is a project with a strong appeal for sustainability using biomass sources produced and discarded in Brazil in an inappropriate way.For characterization of the materials, the techniques of X-ray diffractometry (XRD), X-ray fluorescence (XRF), Fourier transformed absorption spectrometer (FTIR) and mechanical uniaxial/diametral compression test will be used. As expected results, it is expected to obtain the composition 45S5 using rice husk ash as a source of silica and obtain good mechanical properties in compression. (AU)
