Abstract

In accordance with the world's tendency the search for more sustainable energy matrices in order to replace non-renewable energy sources, there is a global need for the development of eco-friendly technologies. These actions aim to sustain the current lifestyle, regarding energy and food consumption and reduce the environmental impact of human activities. Therefore, the development and improvement of high-performance energy storage devices have attracted the attention of the scientific community. Among these technological products, this project highlights the significance of electrochemical devices known as supercapacitors. These devices consist in energy storage systems that permit the rapid release of high amounts of electrical energy, resulting in high specific power values. In that respect, the research proposal is based on the construction of high-performance electrochemical capacitors from the combination, not yet reported in the literature, of specific materials developed in the laboratory. Subsequently, characteristics such as cycling, impedance, and voltage window will be evaluated, in order to analyze the efficiency of the assembled device.(AU)
