Abstract The improvement of energy storage devices is always in development, together with the use of electrochemical capacitors. It is important to obtain materials which present high surface area to increase the electrode capacitance and in consequence, the energy of the device. Thus, the use of thermally reduced and hydrothermally reduced graphene oxide ensures this requirement. Using Ionic Liquids as electrolytes to obtain a great electrochemical stability window, it is important to determine how the surface and interface of these materials works to electrochemically improve the capacitance of supercapacitors in comparison with standard materials and different synthesis routes.
