Abstract

In accordance with the world tendency for the search for more sustainable energy matrices in order to replace non-renwable energy sources, there is a global need for the development of eco-friendly tecnologies. These actions aim to sustain the current lifestyle, regarding energy and food consumption, and reduce enviromental impact of human activities. Therefore, the development and improvement of high-performance energy store devices have attracted the attention of the scientific community. Among these technological products, this project highlights the significance of eletrochemical devices known as supercapacitors. These devices consist in energy storage systems which permits the rapid release of high amounts of eletrical energy, resulting in high specific power values. In that respect, the research proposal is based on the construction of high performance eletrochemical capacitors from the combination, not yet been reported in the literature, of specific materials developed in laboratory. Subsequently, characteristics such as cycling, impedance and voltage window will be evaluated, in order to analyze the efficiency of the assembled device.
