Abstract

As a polysemic concept and process, socio-spatial fragmentation, associated with the process of territorial stigmatization, makes up the main theme of this research. understanding the cityas a space socially produced and organized from different hegemonic and non-hegemonic agents, it is proposed to investigate the relationship, combination and maintenance between boththe processes, having as a cutout the district of Cidade Tiradentes, due to its peripheral condition, with its dynamics intertwined with the metropolis of São Paulo. The objective is to analyze, in the light of the new process of socio-spatial fragmentation, the contents of the territorial stigma, experienced by the citizens of the district, due to their spatial situation. Through data collection, bibliographic review and organization of frameworks from the typologies of the citizens of Cidade Tiradentes and outside it, it will be possible to apprehend and evaluate elements that make up and reinforce the process of socio-spatial fragmentation, associated with the socio-spatial practices of city dwellers by the dimension of inhabiting as the first condition for stigmatization, to which mobility, consumption and leisure dimensions are associated.
