Abstract

This Research Project in Numerical Analysis deals with the development of numerical methods for solving the systems of Partial Differential Equations that model the Shallow Water flow, well known as the Saint-Venant Equations. More specifically, we propose the development of central finite volume schemes for systems of balance laws of hyperbolic nature, including the application to the water flow in natural channels.
