Abstract

Introduction: labor restriction refers to the impossibility and/or inability of the worker to perform a certain task foreseen in his/her function, which can be experienced at any time during the productive life, since it results from illnesses or accidents that require functional relocation or readaptation of activities, ideally for a limited time. An absent or presenteeist worker implies changes of multiple orders, which affect the worker himself and his family members, his coworkers, and society. Objective: This study aims to understand the experiences of workers who return to work with labor restrictions in the hospital context. Method: This is qualitative, descriptive, and exploratory comprehensive research. The participants of the study will be professionals with physical or psychic labor restrictions that limit or prevent the performance of the functions for which they were hired. Data collection will be carried out in two phases: a) the first phase of the study will be based on the analysis of documents, spreadsheets, indicators, and reports about the profile of workers with work restrictions; b) the second phase will consist of a semi-structured interview guided by a script of questions. The data will be analyzed using the content analysis technique. This research will observe and respect all the ethical aspects of research involving human beings. Expected results: it is expected that, with this study, we understand the experiences of workers with occupational restrictions who work in hospitals and, thus, contribute to advances in knowledge about the theme for relevant proposals of interventions aimed at changes.
