Abstract

Solar cells based on organic-inorganic hybrid perovskites (PSCs) are promissing for showing progressive improvement in energy conversion, easy processability and relative low cost. In these devices, the active layer properties are strongly dependent of their morphology and grains size, since these characteristics play a strong role on the presence of defects their structure. A interesting strategy to passivate defects from the perovskite surface and grain boundaries consist of incorporating additive materials with appropriate energy levels and favorable charge mobility. MXenes, a novel class of 2D materials, shows promissing features for energy storage and conversion applications such as tunable energy leves, high charge mobility and high-transparency. This project aims the synthesis and characterizaton of thin-films based on perovskite/MXenes hybrid structures for applications as active layers of PSCs. The thin-films will be deposited from precursor solutions containing different concentration of the 2D material. Thereby, this study aims to estabish parameters to obtain structures and thin-films with desired properties incluiding topography, energy levels and charge mobility. This project will then contribute for the student to advance in the thin-films and 2D materials fields aiming photovoltaic applications.
