Abstract

Through the recognition of the recent protagonism that brazilian indigenous artists and curator have been performing in the national artistic scenario, the research focuses on one of its exponents, the Macuxi artist Jaider Esbell, with the purpose of better comprehending not only the reasons for that protagonism, but also the specificities and questions raised by his theoretical and artistic production. Notwithstanding his effort on behalf of an artistic "cosmopolitic" capable of tensioning the aesthetic contemporary regimes, the research aims to better comprehend the porosities that exists between those productions and its institutionalization.
