Abstract

Investigation on the relationships between Phenomenology and Landscape, taking into account the theoretical basis of the aception of landscape since its arousal in the modern society. This study comprehends the way in which these relations occur in the present, having as its main focus the art-landscape interventions and landscape design after the sixties. The notion of ´landscape space´ will be understood as experienced and phenomenal place, based on the philosophy of Maurice Merleau-Ponty. The interrelation between the ´phenomenology of seeing´ and the ´landscape recognition´ will be examined from a selected number of contemporary artistic interventions and urban situations in which the dialetical relation between concealment and unveiling of the landscape can be verified.
