Abstract

Through essays, design projects and critiques from the past decades by authors such as Steven Krog, Susan Herrington, Peter Walker, James Corner, Catherine Howett, and Bernard Lassus, it seems that L.A. has revealed an interest in a design oriented by the approximation between project and effective lived experiences of places and landscapes; a process that, in a broader way, has been called into question by phenomenology. This Internship Research is intended to question whether/how the intimate significance of landscape experience permeates contemporary American Landscape Architecture and the attempts to delineate its professional ethos and own aesthetics.
