Abstract

Having knowledge that the nervous system is coordinated by different sensory and motor areas that coordinate voluntary activities, we evaluate in the following work the encephalic hemodynamic response to a sensory stimulus that acts in a specific way on the cortical response. One of the methods to monitor this cortical response is the encephalic hemodynamic response, which assesses the intensity of cortical activation by detecting changes in flow velocity after a specific sensory stimulus. This project aims to evaluate the hemodynamic response to a sensory stimulus determined by the Sensory Quantitative Test (SQT). Healthy individuals will be recruited and cerebral blood flow velocity will be evaluated by transcranial Doppler before and after different degrees of TSQ stimuli. It is then to be ascertained whether the hemodynamic response occurred and the respective degrees of stimuli, whether quantitatively more significant or not, and which metabolic components influence or are influenced in the response. This search aims to fill existing gaps in the literature on the hemodynamic response to sensory cortical activation.
