Abstract

We propose the investigation of asymptotically anti de-Sitter space-times with cylindrical symmetry under the AdS/CFT correspondence. These are solutions of Einstein's equations of General Relativity well known for a long time, and properties of the space-times itself are well known. However, the analysis of associated transport coefficients and dual theories has not been scrutinized in the literature. The correspondence between gravity and gauge theories constitutes a clear method to obtain quantities related to the effective field theory dual to classical gravity solutions, especially in the context where gravity is given by the standard theory of General Relativity. This process is well understood and has proven to give promising results when applied to other space-times.
