Abstract

The present research aims to consider the philosophical consequences of the not-all phallic logic investigated and presented by Jacques Lacan in the second decade of his teaching (1964-1973) culminating, in the seminars from 1970 to 1973, in formulas and table of sexuation. Such objective is presented both by the constant dialogue that the psychoanalyst establishes with philosophy in his investigations about sexuality and the real, and by Lacanian defense that phallic logic, in which the speaking being participates and performs in face of castration and inconsistency of language, is also expressed in philosophical discourse and knowledge, which challenges us to think, among other questions, what are the consequences of the consideration of a not-all phallic logic to philosophy. To this, we will turn to the debate undertaken by Alain Badiou and Barbara Cassin about the philosophical effects of Lacan's theory of sexuality, in which they discuss whether the not-all leads to an anti-philosophy or to a logology, that is, whether it enables, respectively, a critical renovation of the philosophical field from a logic not based on the principles of identity and non-contradiction or if it denounces the limit and inconsistency of such discourse, inserting new ways of dealing with philosophical objects.
