Abstract

The relationships, connections and kinship of people with Li-Fraumeni syndrome in Brazil, with special attention to the p.R337h variant, are the object of this project. It is intended to analyse, know and describe the relationships that are established between the carriers, within the scope of the Association of carriers of Li-Fraumeni Syndrome of Brazil and, also, how the elaborations around the kinships take place, especially considering that a common ancestor is attributed by geneticists to all carriers of the p.R337h variant. In addition to the figure of this common ancestor, this project aims, based on genealogies and genetic kinship, to think about the meanings and family arrangements that carrying this syndrome produces.
