Abstract

This project proposes to carry out a twelve-months research fellowship hosted at the School of Business and Management at Queen Mary University of London, under the supervision of Dr. Jessica Sklair. The main objective is to improve and deepen the postdoctoral research I have been developing, in which I analyze the ways the supply chain of the soybean makes scalable worlds to emerge when engaging in certain situated, contingent and heterogeneous landscapes like the Brazilian Cerrado. During this period abroad, I propose to explore the recent bibliography on agribusiness green bonds and on other so-called sustainable financial technologies. This stage of the investigation will contribute to a broader research question on how the connections between new agribusiness technologies and financial investments allows to apprehend the formation of a global commodity market (the Tropical Soybean market), which currently has as an outstanding presence among its operators the large transnational corporations and financial players. Therefore, the internship at a business and administration school, under the supervision of an anthropologist, will give me access to recent debates about this literature and discussions, the possibility of participate in scientific activities and events, also the opportunity to dialogue with researchers specialized in these topics. The fellowship abroad also aims to contribute to the internationalization of my academic networks and those of the research group I am engaged. (AU)
