Abstract

Horses with immune-mediated or autoimmune diseases have an exacerbated inflammatory response that is difficult to control, with a prognosis reserved, generating significant expenses with medications. The conventional treatment with the use of steroidal or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, has high potential to cause gastrointestinal and renal adverse effects. Asalternative treatment, both mesenchymal stem cells and cannabidiol have been studied due to its immunomodulatory/anti-inflammatory propertiesby promoting the decreasing of pro-inflammatory cytokines and increasing the production of anti-inflammatory cytokines. In this study, it is intended to evaluate in vitro if there is a potentiating of the anti-inflammation of tissue-derived equine mesenchymal stem cells adipose tissue-derived, under the influence of an extract rich in cannabidiol at concentrations of 5µM and7 µM. Data will be analyzed based on apoptosis, percentages of cells in different phases of the cell cycle, gene expression of anti-inflammatory factors and cell migration.
