Abstract

In Brazil, the aggregation of values along with the diversification of products have been used as alternatives to improve the profitability of the trout culture and this include the variation of strains of different skin colors. Thus, the objective is to characterize the growth of lines of trout, separated by color pattern, under the following aspects: to evaluate the allometric growth of the body and morphometry; fit the growth model to weight x age data; characterizes hypertrophy and hyperplasia of white muscle fibers; characterize the specific dynamic action of amino acids in muscle growth. Trouts of four different colors will be obtained by crossing white trout with wild type trout. The eggs will be incubated under the same conditions and the fingerlings will be cultivated in 1 m³ circular tanks in an open system with a constant flow of water until they reach a commercial weight of 350 g. Samples of fish and body tissues will be taken during growth, several histological and amino acid profile analyzes will be carried out in the rations, blood/liver and muscle tissue in HPLC, consisting mainly of the analysis of diameter and density of muscle fibers and specific dynamic action of the amino acids, especially arginine. The allometric equation y=axb will be adopted for each component part of the body and, at the end of the experiment, the processing yield will also be determined. Data analysis will be performed considering 4 treatments (lines), four replications (tanks) in different cultivation periods. The adjustment of the Gompertz growth model will allow evaluation of absolute growth rates, weight and age at inflection. Analyzes will be performed on SAS OnDemand for Academics, Copyright © 2020 SAS Institute Inc.
