Abstract The variability of stimulus equivalence test results may be a consequence of the experimenter not controlling the stimulus control topographies (SCTs) - control by selection (S+) and rejection (S-) - during a typical Matching to Sample task. Controlling SCTs and ensuring both S+ and S- controls in teaching the relationship between stimuli would lead to a reduction in the variability of these results. One procedure that meets the conditions is Training IRAP, due to its structure requiring the identification of related and non-relational stimuli. The present study will have three experimental groups, each group (N=10) will be submitted to a procedure: Delayed Matching to Sample (DMTS), Training IRAP (T-IRAP) or Modified Training IRAP (MT-IRAP). Data analysis will be based on the percentage of subjects in each group that meet the criteria for stimulus equivalence (yield). The hypothesis of the present study is that T-IRAP and MT-IRAP will be more effective in the formation of stimulus equivalence when compared to DMTS. This project has the potential to contribute to experimental studies and equivalence-based instruction applications to produce a higher yield. | |
