Abstract

Entering the debate of urban imaginaries created by the cinematographic language, we seek to discuss the relationship between urban films of the Slow Cinemas trend and the discourse of slow urban experience that it builds. To this end, we chose to make an approximation of the principles of slowness that this trend incorporates with the existing debates in urban studies that theorize about the practices of "slow" in the space of the city. The objective is, therefore, to form a critical look through the processes of representation of real urban experiences, having as a lens the material and virtual experience of space in its representation in contemporary cinema. Therefore, entering into debates on the historical formation of the image of the contemporary city, the current research plan proposes to debate the plural character that has on architecture and city studies in the fields of theory and history of architecture, intersecting knowledge from the field of art. , culture and urban studies. The primary hypothesis is that there is a similarity between the process of apprehension of the film and the city represented, in order to constitute a slow territoriality that, throughout the record of the duration of the urban, consolidated an erratic experience by the spatialities contained in the Slow Cinemas films.
