Abstract

The forage planning of a rural property is extremely important and often quite complex. Pasture production simulation models are useful tools, as in addition to assisting in the planning of production systems, they can serve as support for the implementation of public policies, through the development of studies on climate risk zoning, for example. However, these tools need constant adjustments and parameterization to encompass a greater number of regions, pasture species and cultivars. Therefore, the objective of this project is to adapt and parameterize a production estimation model for different cultivars of annual ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum L.) under the conditions of the southern region of Brazil, and to develop a protocol for carrying out a risk zoning for the use of technological alternatives, aiming to face the forage void. For the parameterization of the ryegrass model, a database of experiments already developed in different places in the southern region of Brazil will be used, through the APSIM-Annual Ryegrass model of the APSIM platform. For the development of the test protocol of technological alternatives to face the forage void, a rural property will be simulated, which will add both perennial summer pasture and annual winter pasture in its structure. The simulation of the production of the summer perennial species will be carried out in the CROPGRO-Perennial Forage model on the DSSAT platform, while the simulation for the winter species will be carried out with the model already parameterized in the first part of this project.
