Abstract

This study proposes to analyze the paths taken by the application of Emergency Protective Measures (EPM) involving women in situations of violence and their monitoring through the so-called Maria da Penha Patrol. The research aims to map the Measures sent to the Patrol in the city of Ribeirão Preto/SP, exploring and categorizing possible criteria used for screening and selection of these cases, seeking to discuss how such elements affect the effectiveness of this tool as an instrument to combat gender violence. An empirical-inductive methodology of qualitative approach will be used, through Deleuzian cartography, with the objective of mapping not only the trajectory of Urgent Protective Measures are applied, but the lines that cross and affect their constitution and effectiveness. The research will also observate the Police Station for the Women Defense through an ethnographic approach, investigating the processing of the protective measure in the Forum and, finally, its monitoring through the Maria da Penha Patrol, which, in that city, takes place through the Municipal Civil Guard. In addition, I will use, in a complementary way, the analysis of documents corresponding to the field frequented, such as police reports, requests for protective measures, police inquiries, judicial processes and decisions. I propose a questioning of the agendas that cross gender studies, assessing their meaning as part of a cultural construction, considering the theme together with other forces that overlap simultaneously, such as urban geography, race and class, in addition to colonial and neocolonial processes, which must be contextualized within a historical, political and global narrative.
