Abstract The development of new sources of quantum states of light have recently known a shift back into the use of nonlinearities in atomic vapors for entangled and squeezed state production. These results can be associated as a consequence of the strong nonlinearity in four wave mixing process either in hot atomic vapor or cold atoms. In the current proposal we will use the parametric amplification in atomic vapors of rubidium to generate cluster states. We will use a double-pump scheme, where pump fields in distinct frequencies will lead to the generation of a ladder structure of entangled modes in the downconverted fields. This structure has interesting properties for possible applications in quantum information processing. The goal of the student is the generation of the phase stabilized double pump source for the parametric process proposed for the Cluster state generation by four wave mixing (4WM). | |
