Abstract

Sustainable development is an attempt to clarification modernity in the face of the emergence of environmental issues caused by the hegemonic economic production mode of this same modernity. In the United Nations Agenda 2030, on the Sustainable Development Goals, within the seventh goal one of the targets is to promote the energy transition from the use of fossil fuels to a matrix based on renewable energy. The territorialization of wind farms, understood as a movement derived from the territorial dispute between energy companies and traditional communities, is an attempt to achieve this goal. Given this, the big question of this project is to understand how and why this energy transition attempt, based on the use of alternative energy sources and supported by the 2030 agenda, may be producing and distributing, in an unequal manner in geographic space, risks for traditional peoples and communities. For this, we start from the hypothesis that the advance of renewable energy production, based on the paradigm of sustainable development, is configured as another form of normatization of the territory for the accumulation of capital. To execute this proposal we intend to conduct a review of the theoretical framework and field work, which aims to collect primary data and get closer to the reality that we intend to investigate, in municipalities of the semi-arid region of Bahia that have Fundo and Fecho in Pasto communities impacted by the territorialization of wind farms in various temporalities, that is, in its various stages of territorialization. As an expected result, we intend to develop a database with quantitative and qualitative information to analyze, based on the correlation of the information collected, the synergies and trade offs produced by this territorialization, and to propose another way to normatize these territories.
