Abstract

This research aims to study Brazilian local elections by focusing on its candidates' spatial voting patterns. Initially, we will assess candidates' strategies in local elections, particularly in terms of where they are able to secure the most votes, based on data disaggregated on the polling place level. Afterwards, we will analyze how those strategies and patterns are associated to other variables, such as political or socioeconomic characteristics, or public services' infrastructure and availability.
