Abstract

This research has three main objectives. The first objective of the research is to identify typologies of electoral patterns from the analysis of the spatial-temporal distribution of variables in proportional elections in the different electoral districts from the municipal scale. The second objective of the research is to analyze how the different electoral typologies identified relate to political variables such as presence in the municipalities of party structures (directories and commissions), electoral spending in different sectors (education, health, etc.) and with the performance of specific parties in local elections. The third objective of the research is the analysis of local elections (mayors / councilors) from information associated with polling places for municipalities in metropolitan regions.
