Abstract

The Cerrado biome, located in South America, has been devastated for decades by anthropic action, is considered a hot spot due to the large number of endemic species, among them, many plants with food and medicinal properties. One of the representatives of this group is Campomanesia adamantium, popularly known as gabiroba, which is part of the Myrtaceae family and is native to the Brazilian Cerrado. This species has, in its secondary metabolites, essential oils that have been studied due to their pharmacological potential, however, they present low yield, and because of this, the species is exploited in a predatory way. In this sense, this project explores different micropropagation techniques, especially with cell suspension in bioreactors, influenced by elicitors (ABA and AAS), in order to increase the production of these biocompounds so that they can be used in different industrial sectors.
