Abstract

The objective of this study will be to compare, through histomorphometric analysis, the tissue repair of wounds on the back of rats produced by incisions with different types of instruments (conventional blade, electrocautery - knife tip, Colorado tip and Thin-Cut type) at different periods of the healing process. For this purpose, 30 male rats (Rattus norvergicus albinus, Holtzman variety) with an average body weight of 350g and age ranging from 3 to 4 months will be selected. All animals will receive incisions by all methods and will be randomly divided into 5 groups of 6 animals each, according to the experimental period for euthanasia (G1: 24 hours after surgery; G2: 48 hours after surgery; G3: 72 hours hours after surgery; G4: 7 days after surgery; G5: 14 days after surgery). After histological processing and histomorphometric analysis of the samples, data will be collected and submitted to statistical analysis.
