Abstract

The concept of open innovation comprises a scenario in which knowledge, experience andcapacities are dispersed among several organisations. Innovative activities can occur in research institutions or outside them, in an open system, joining efforts and accelerating the generation of innovations. This phenomenon is also perceived in agribusiness through agricultural innovation ecosystems, which involve several actors including organizations, universities, government, research institutes, laboratories, small and large companies, producer associations, cooperatives and financial markets in a specific region. However, how to measure or evaluate innovation, particularly at the beginning of technology-based product development? In this context, this post-doctoral project aims to propose a methodology to define innovation metrics and indicators, with a focus on digital agriculture, supporting the impact evaluation of the Agro-Technological Districts (ETCs).
