Abstract

In this proposal the objective is to deepen the policies, mechanisms, studies and projects for the preservation of the industrial landscape, in order to improve the discussion about its proposed protection mechanisms in Brazil. It is intended to develop it in the Autonomous Community of Catalonia (Spain), considered a reference in this theme, with multiple publications by different authors, especially the supervisor of this study, Joaquín Sabaté Bel, who has worked on notable projects in different instances in Catalonia, from the point of view of the preservation and refunctionalization of the industrial heritage. It is proposed the bibliographic research and analysis of the documents related to the theme, to identify the motivations, concepts employed, justifications, propositions, indicatives, issues involved, methodologies adopted, in order to favor a complete analysis of these bases that precede the formulation of instruments of preservation of the industrial heritage. There will be specific studies on the Landscape Law of Catalonia (Law No. 8/2005) and adjacent materials, as well as projects prior to this law, such as the one developed in the Industrial Colonies of the Llobregat River and Poblenou Plan 22@, which involve working with the industrial landscape at different scales of perception. As a complement, we consider the studies on outstanding geographical situations in other autonomous communities of Spain, in addition to the meeting with other researchers. Through this study, in its different perceptions in the treatment of the landscape, possible parallelisms, differentiations and reflections on the Brazilian case, on the problems of preservation of a large-scale industrial heritage, like the case of the Village of Paranapiacaba.
