Abstract

The connection between Bell nonlocality and quantum contextuality, two of the most intriguing features of quantum theory, has been subject of research since the first few decades after the establishment of these concepts. In recent years, generalizations of Bell scenarios which allow a nonlocality experiment to be performed concomitantly with a contextuality experiment have enabled new perspectives to investigate this relationship. These generalized scenarios, however, have been little explored in literature so far. From a fundamental point of view, they induce a generalization of the concept of nonlocality whose connection with the usual definition is not fully understood. Furthermore, the relationship bewteen nonlocality and contextuality in these scenarios lacks a quantitative description. From a practical point of view, as it is well known that both nonlocality and contextuality are useful resources in plenty of informational tasks, such generalizations of Bell scenarios might be useful for applications that use these two resources simultaneously. The objectives of this project, then, are (i) to define nonlocality and contextuality quantifiers for the generalized scenarios, considering both the usual notion of nonlocality and its generalized version; (ii) to study, using these quantifiers, the connection between the two different notions of nonlocality; and (iii) to quantitatively describe the relations bewteen nonlocality and contextuality in these scenarios.
