Abstract

This project aims to promote the scientific dissemination of researches carried out by the Institute of Theoretical Physics of the Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (IFT-UNESP) and the International Center for Theoretical Physics - South American Institute for Fundamental Research (ICTP-SAIFR), in order to contribute to broaden the public's knowledge about Theoretical Physics and encourage them to learn more about this area. With this purpose, scientific dissemination activities on different areas of Physics will be conducted based on the production of journalistic videos on the most recent research in the field. The material produced together with the ICTP-SAIFR communication team from the various scientific dissemination activities promoted by the institute will be disseminated in an accessible way to the society, using multimedia resources, such as audios, videos, photos and infographics. Videos and other content will be published on different digital platforms and social networks such as IFT-UNESP and ICTP-SAIFR channels on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. In addition, scientific production linked to ICTP-SAIFR will also be taken as an agenda suggestion to other communication vehicles, especially to TV channels focused on teaching and research, such as UnivespTV and EBC. Additionally, a pedagogical material on recent discoveries in Theoretical Physics, produced by the renowned Perimeter Institute, in Canada, will be adapted to be used in workshops aimed at high school teachers in Physics. A plan for disseminating the best practices of these teachers in teaching topics related to Theoretical Physics will also be prepared and, finally, a new scientific dissemination event will be created and organized using videoconferencing tools, with the aim of providing high school students from various parts of the country direct contact with high-level scientists linked to IFT-UNESP and ICTP-SAIFR.
