Abstract Digital mapping of soil information is key for food security. Soil organic carbon (SOC) is fundamental to crop productivity and is associated with climate change mitigation. The soil productivity potential (SoilPP) allows understanding where the agricultural yields can be improved. We aim to map the spatio-temporal distribution of the SOC in Brazilian soils for layers 0-20, 20-40, 40-60, 60-80 and 80-100 cm and the SoilPP for worlds agricultural areas. We obtained a temporal database with soil observation a environmental covariates (static and dynamic) for Brazilian territory. A soil database and covariates for worlds agricultural areas will obtained. The SOC stock will be map from 1984 to 2023 for 5-year periods by digital soil mapping (DSM) framework. For it, a unique model will be calibrated, which will be used to predict the SOC stock by uses dynamic covariates of each period. Final maps will be validated with existing maps and sampling points. We expect to obtain and make available SOC stock maps at detailed scale for the Brazilian territory, which can serve as subsidy for public policies for low C agriculture and climate change mitigation. The SoillPP index will be calculate based on soil attributes, relief and climate at global level using scoring methods and principal components analyses. Thus, it will be map for worlds agricultural areas by DSM. The SoilPP map will be evaluate by real productivity and yield gap information. The SoilPP maps will permits to evaluate the situation of worlds agricultural areas allowing the sustainable agricultural intensification. (AU) | |
