Abstract Endodontic treatment of infected teeth has as main objective the maximum reduction ofthe microbial load of the root canal system, favoring the repair of periradicular tissuesand the success of endodontic therapy.Obturation is responsible for maintaining the antisepsis achieved during biomechanicalpreparation. The present study aims to analyze, through laser scanning confocalmicroscopy, the initial adhesion of Enterococcus faecalis and Lactobacillus casei todifferent substrates, such as dentin before and after the irrigation process, cones andplasticized gutta-percha discs, such as also on samples of Bio C Sealer® and CeraSeal®calcium silicate cements.60 bovine incisors will be used to make dentin discs, obtained using a Trephine bur andproper polishing. The dentin substrate will be irrigated with two protocols, sodiumhypochlorite + EDTA or sodium hypochlorite and sodium etidronate. All specimenswill be contaminated with a mixed biofilm of Enterococcus faecalis and Lactobacilluscasei for 10 days. Substrate contamination will be evaluated by Live/Dead dye, in laserscanning confocal microscopy. For the statistical test, data will be tabulated andevaluated for normality, then submitted to parametric tests or not (p<0.05). | |
