Abstract

This project aims to investigate the effect of the dark matter (DM) component on the evolution of a neutron star (NS) from its birth through a supernovae explosion to the formation of a cold NS. We will use the relativistic mean field (RMF) hadronic model with a DM candidate (neutralino), which will interact with the hadrons through the exchange of Higgs boson. We choose the RMF approach because it accommodates bulk nuclear experimental data and observational astrophysical constraints. We will determine the nuclear equations of state (EoS) that will serve as the basics for the study. The snapshots of the star's evolution at each stage of its life would be traced by fixing entropy and determining the temperature profile in its interior. Our interest is to determine how DM influences the properties of the star, such as particle distribution, mass, radius, and temperature profile, among others, as the star evolves. The results obtained from the study will be compared with other known results in the literature, obtained either through astrophysical simulations or other theoretical means to determine the impact of the DM on the star's evolution.
