Abstract

This PhD project, in force since 2019, focuses on the synthesis of ligands and formation of enantioenriched metal complexes and their catalytic activity. From the beginning, the object of study was the class of nitrogenous ligands, specifically the bispyridines. The initial objective was the synthesis of bifunctional ligands, capable of containing two different metals in order to perform sequential catalysis. Throughout the project, it was observed that the specification of the synthesis of monofunctional ligands, as shown throughout this project, became advantageous from the point of view of the experimental design (able to prospect results more quickly and with new products), as well as in terms of time, due to the stoppage of activities and considering the current scholarship schedule. In this way, this project describes the set of strategies used to obtain new binders and projects the possibilities and future plans applicable for the eventual extension of the scholarship, as contemplated for cases of direct doctorate.
