Abstract

In many phenomena of fluid dynamics, a fluid interacts with a solid structure, where it exerts pressure that can cause deformation in the structure and thus causes a change in the flow of the fluid itself. These phenomena are called "fluid-body interactions", which occur, for example, in medicine (blood flow in veins of animal bodies), in zoology (swimming aquatic animals) and in aerodynamics (flow around cars, aircrafts or boats), among other areas. In this project we consider a "fluid-rigid body" interaction problem, considering the Navier slip conditions on the rigid body boundary and on the bounded domain boundary, which is occupied by the Nonnewtonian fluid and the rigid body. We will obtain the theoretical result of the global in time solvability of the problem in the three-dimensional case.During this visit, a joint investigation will be carried out by professors Anna Mazzucato, Penn State University, United States (host), Nikolai Chemetov and Marcelo Santos (UNICAMP) on the "fluid-rigid body" interaction problem.
