Abstract

The requested IC1 scholarship will be linked to the activities of the Exploration phase/ Aim 1: To identify actions, stakeholders and institutions involved into the implementation of retail food environment initiatives of PROTEJA, across five municipalities in São Paulo State. Currently, the state of São Paulo has 30 municipalities that committed to implementing the PROTEJA, of these, 2 did not adhere to the PSE, 7 did not adhere to Programa Crescer Saudável, and 27 of them have IDH-m below the national average. A total of five municipalities that meet study criteria will be selected. A random selection of three of these will serve as sites for the implementation of the proposed initiatives and two will serve as control sites. Two additional sites that do not meet study criteria and that do not adhere to PROTEJA will be selected to serve as additional controls. In order to provide the best information available to select the municipalities, this IC project aims to characterize the municipalities of the State of São Paulo that adhered to the Proteja program, according to sociodemographic, economic and development indicators.
