Abstract

This research proposal adds new elements to the debate regarding the connectionelectoral in the Brazilian case. With an emphasis on the programmatic component arising from contentpolicy, innovates with the aim of incorporating measurements obtained from the use ofcomputational learning for text analysis - approach widely known astext-as-data - in the investigation regarding the link between the performance of the Brazilian federal deputyand the local political dynamics that result in the possible electoral connection (FENNO, 1973; GRIMMER,2013; MAYHEW, 1974). The stage of art regarding the elections for federal deputy showsthat electoral concentration is not the main strategy of elected officials (AVELINO;BIDERMAN; SILVA, 2016). Furthermore, the regionalization of voting may be another result ofinformational dynamics in the territory, as it is connected to credit claims byrepresentatives, rather than the creation of informal districts (SILVA; SILOTTO, 2018). Suchfindings open new fronts of research on the dynamics of electoral connection in the caseBrazilian. In particular, how the agenda expressed by federal deputies dialogues with the managementat the local level and spread throughout the electorate.
