Abstract

The effective management of the supply chain is a critical element for organizations seeking to acquire and maintain competitive advantages in the market. As a result, there has been growing interest in optimizing supply chain management processes, with a particular focus on supplier evaluation, selection and development. Within supply chain management, decision-making is a routine activity in which a variety of approaches and techniques are employed to solve specific problems. However, these approaches are often used in isolation, without due consideration of the needs of the decision-making process. The aim of this scientific initiation project is to deepen our understanding of the decision-making process in supply chain management in the aeronautical industry. To achieve this goal, the project will follow a series of steps, including carrying out a systematic literature review that addresses decision support techniques and their applications in the aeronautical industry; the selection of one or more techniques for implementation and; the illustrative application of these techniques to a supply chain management problem in the aeronautical sector. The development of this project aims to improve knowledge about the decision-making process in the aeronautics industry, promoting the effective use of decision support techniques and contributing to the continuous improvement of performance in a sector that is recognized as one of the best in the world.
