Soybean is one of the crops of relevant national and global importance. Due to climate change, the world's agricultural areas are increasingly subject to extreme weather conditions. For most species, high temperatures and drought stress (lack of water) significantly affect seed quality. This is particularly problematic in soybean seeds, which can often result in low quality seeds, leading to a specific loss in crop yield. Stress can cause green or greenish soybean seeds to occur. This anomaly is characterized by generating an adult plant that produces green seeds with lower vigor. Therefore, the present project aims to validate the presence of genomic sequences located close to SNP markers associated with greenish seeds in fifteen commercial soybean cultivars. At the same time, the vigor of the seeds belonging to these fifteen commercial cultivars will be characterized. Correlation analyzes will be performed between the measurement variations, and the conventional PCR technique will be used to validate the candidate genes, being performed in dry seeds and in seedlings. It is expected that the markers will be validated by the presence/absence/intensity of band in these commercial cultivars being characterized as susceptible or tolerant to the problem of green seeds.
