Abstract

This project of Research Grant Abroad aims to bring theoretical and methodological elements, together with partnership of the Research Group Person-environment (GRIPA) of the University of A Coruña and the PACTE Laboratory of the National Center for Scientific Research CNRS of France, to define a program of experimentation of bioregions, in order to increase the resilience of territories, local communities and ecosystems to the local consequences of the crises of the Anthropocene, such as water crises, soil depletion, heat islands, among others. The research project will be consisted of five parts: 1) Theoretical research: exchanges with French and Spanish researchers in Environmental Humanities in order to define the detailed problematics related to the analysis of the Anthropocene, starting from the anthropic environment; 2) Pragmatic research: empirical study of urban mobilization experiences in Spanish and French metropolises to identify new methods of sensitizing inhabitants; 3) Empirical research based on interviews with public institutions, in Spain and France, in order to identify a referential for a governmental policy that integrates the population and the local ecosystems; 4) Prospective research into two pilot areas, one in Spain and another in France, in order to define systemic risk scenarios to enrich existing adaptation policies; 5) Epistemological reflection: exchanges with partners to define an integrated research approach that associates academic and policy research. With these results, it is aimed to elaborate an action program, which will be led by CETESB - Companhia Ambiental do Estado de São Paulo (host institution) in order to São Paulo State can face the crises of the Anthropocene.
