Abstract

In Brazil, the main drivers of the advancement of Science and Technology are in university institutions, with their funding almost entirely dependent on government financial support. In addition to sharing knowledge with society, it is crucial to ensure that research conducted in universities and research centers reaches decision-makers, as the lack of funding hinders the continuity of research and innovation. The Center for the Study of Venoms and Venomous Animals (CEVAP), established in Botucatu/SP in 1993, is an example of this commitment. Throughout its existence, various research projects have been conducted, with notable achievements including the development of two biopharmaceuticals using animal venoms: the heterologous fibrin biopolymer and the anti-apilic serum. In 2018, CEVAP obtained funding for the construction of the Center for Translational Science and Biopharmaceutical Development (CTS-CEVAP) on the UNESP campus in Botucatu. This innovative project in the country aims to overcome the challenge known as the "valley of death," referring to therapeutic molecules with potential that are discovered but do not reach the market. The current proposal has as its main objectives to promote the initiatives of the CTS-CEVAP team to the general public and attract the attention of potential funders, both public and private, emphasizing the need for investments in Science and Technology. To achieve these goals, mass media channels such as newspapers and radio will be used, along with the internet through social media and the CEVAP website
