Abstract

Computer-assisted surgery consists of the preparation of a surgical guide created from a computerized planning, using tomographic images, associated with digital models. Its high degree of precision, reduction of surgical time and morbidity as well as its predictability make computer-assisted surgery an important option to be considered in implant dentistry. Despite this, the degree of adaptation and stability of the surgical guide seems to interfere with accuracy. The objective of this study will be to verify the accuracy of virtual planning in the installation of unitary implants in computer-assisted surgery, with the use of bone and mucus-supported surgical guides. For this, 20 unit implants will be installed in artificial mandibles, 10 in mandible without mucosal simulation and 10 in mandible with mucosa simulation, that is, 10 with supported bone guides and 10 with mucous supported guides, in order to verify their positioning and compare their positioning to that of virtual planning. The positioning measurements will be made in the virtual planning software where the vertical and horizontal reference planes and the inclinations of the implants will be measured, in the virtual planning and after their installation. The data will be tabulated and compared between the periods studied and statistically analyzed. The variance test (paired ANOVA) will be used and for the evaluation of systematic and/or casual error (paired t-test) using the Dahlberg test. Once the desirable accuracy is less than 0.5mm of deviation, it is expected that the results achieved will come closer to this value.keyword: Dental implantation; Image guided surgery; planning techniques.
