Abstract

Studies suggest that inflammatory diseases (ID) such as rheumatoid arthritis (RA)would associate the presence of subclinical atherosclerosis and cardiovascular disease (CVD). OELSA-Brasil is a prospective cohort study that includes the study of risk factorsclassic and non-classical for CVD and their relationship with the incidence of CVD and diabetes. The objective of this project is to evaluate the incidence of subclinical atherosclerosis measured bycalcium score (CAC) in participants who reported the presence of RA in thebaseline or follow-up. The identification of the presence of AR would be done by asking questions aboutmedical diagnosis of diseases, use of medications and the presence of biomarkersassociates dosed from biological samples stored at -180 o C collected in 2008-2010 (baseline) with 9-year follow-up: rheumatoid factor and anti-CCP. Youresults will be presented by logistic regression (cross-sectional data) and regressionPoisson with unadjusted relative risk calculation, adjusted for factorssociodemographic and with multivariate adjustment for confounding factors.
