Abstract

The present work consists of a study on the acoustics of the Sebastião Jorge Chammé Auditorium, at the Matarazzo Cultural Center in Presidente Prudente - SP. It aims to present an analysis of the acoustic conditioning of the location in order to identify possible inadequacies, based on the standards NBR 3352:1974 (acoustics - evaluation of noise with respect to its effect on speech intelligibility), NBR 10152:2017 Corrected Version: 2020 (acoustics - sound pressure levels inside buildings), NBR 12179:1992 (acoustic treatment in closed spaces) and NBR 16313:2014 (acoustics: terminology). In relation to methodological procedures, bibliographical surveys will be carried out to provide a theoretical basis for architectural acoustics and acoustic perception, data collection and analysis of the theater, measurements of the sound pressure level at the site and calculations of reverberation time acoustics. Existing surveys (such as City Hall, websites, articles, dissertations, etc.), on-site and iconographic surveys will also be studied. In this way, the aim is to acoustically evaluate this auditorium, analyze whether these conditions are suitable for its function, and propose guidelines for the acoustic adaptation of the spaces, if necessary.
