Abstract

This research plan is part of the FAPESP/NSFC 2022/07974-0, entitled: "Synergistic effects of climate change and land use on carbon source and sink of Amazon Forest ecosystem". The main goal is to investigate the climate feedbacks of land use change in the Amazon Forest and its impact on the carbon budget and climate extremes. Multi-source remote sensing data, ground based observations and meteorological data will be integrated. A multi-scale modeling framework will be applied, using Earth system, regional weather and ecological process models, as well as data-driven models.
