True crimes in podcasts: a comparative analysis between sound journalistic narratives

Abstract

This research aims to make a comparative analysis between true crime podcasts: A Mulher da Casa Abandonada, produced by Folha de S. Paulo, and O Caso Evandro, produced by university professor Ivan Mizanzuk and most recently aired on Globoplay. To meet the purpose, a mapping of the journalistic narrative strategies present in the productions will be carried out, mapping and understanding similarities and differences between audio products. For better understanding, concepts of podcasts (Bonini, 2020), sound journalistic narrative (Kischinhevsky, 2018; Viana, 2023) and audio productions in the True Crime format (Lopez, 2021; Jáuregui and Viana, 2022) will be covered, as well as understanding the popularization of these productions in Brazil and around the world. The bibliographic review, comparative analysis and content analysis of Bardin (2004 and 2011) are used as methodology. From observing the first episodes of the two productions, it will be possible to reflect on the sound strategies used in the two podcasts, so that a mapping of the narrative techniques used in the two programs can later be made. The research results will be presented in this study, which will contribute to the basis of an article concluding the research and participation in scientific events.
