Abstract

This doctoral research project, linked to the Young Researcher Phase 2 grant "Cosmopolitics of Care in the End of the World: Gender, Borders, and Pluri-epistemic Assemblages with Public Health" (2021/06897-9), seeks to analyze the processes through which bixas trans and travestis in the cities of São Paulo (SP) and Tabatinga (AM) mobilize assemblages of care and compose their own worlds, in relation to their ancestries, to overcome the systematic abjections and threats of the critical contexts they inhabit, and produce conditions of health and care in complex relationships with the state (public health included). To this end, a multi-sited and collaborative ethnography will be carried out with specific networks of bixas trans and travestis already known to the researcher. This research proposes to amplify the analyses begun during my master's degree in alliances produced with trans women and travestis who have lived in the city of São Paulo (SP) since the 1980s, and also in relation to the research networks produced in Tabatinga (AM) by my advisor for more than a decade, mainly in the Terreiro do Pai Jairo with his daughters, young gays, bixas trans and travestis. Finally, I aim to investigate the implications and possible shifts for public health when transvestites, young people, orixás and other "otherness" are the agents of care. (AU)
