Abstract

The relationship between science and society is extremely important for the continuity of scientific development, since, for its full growth, it needs to be aligned with social demands and permeate constructive debates. Over the last 50 years of history, scientific knowledge has reached the population through mass scientific dissemination initiatives, such as those undertaken by physicist Carl Sagan. Considering the development of Smartphones and the creation and advent of social networks, which have caused a great demand for information from citizens, scientific dissemination by researchers at the Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP) is essential. Therefore, we propose different fronts of action to publicize relevant work by researchers from this Institution, with emphasis on the Young Researcher II project developed by the research group for which the proponent of this proposal is responsible, but also by other researchers from UNESP, among them: Fernando R. Pavan; Danielle B. Pedrolli; Juliana A. D. Bonini Campos; Jean L. dos Santos; Thiago A. da Silva. Through training with courses provided by Canal Futura and Fundação Roberto Marinho, in addition to greater qualification in the production of virtual content through courses provided by Co.liga, different materials will be produced in order to bring the science produced by Brazilian researchers closer to the population in general, since such content will be disseminated across the most diverse media channels.
